An Assortment of July 2012

Some July fashion highlights and sweet moments.

Clockwise-ish from top left:
Mr B in his Paul Frank pirate romper, accessorized with his monogrammed pillow, a gift from Heather's cousin, Jenny; Mama H cradling his sweet baby toes; Oh, those big brown eyes!;

During one of our early morning hang-out times, a summer storm rolled in. The temperature was beautiful and we cracked the window, and sat in the rocking chair, watching and listening to the rain, and wiggling our toes in the breeze. It was one of those moments, where I thought "this is what it's all about." Then a woodpecker started knocking on the tree outside the window, winding it's way around the trunk. I'm not sure if Bodhi could see it through the foliage, but he seemed fascinated by the rhythmic noise. He continues to be such a curious baby, taking in every thing around him.

Sporting a shark onesie from family friend, Jean; Looking handsome in a striped romper; the absolute highlight of any given workday is when my guys come to visit me at the shop. Love them so much!; Bodhi's really starting to get a kick out of his reflection, staring intently at the face staring back; this mushroom patterned romper was purchased before Bodhi ever arrived. It's from of our vendors at the store, and I knew that my kiddo, boy or girl, would absolutely "need" that romper :)

4 Months Old...look at him grow! 7-18-12

Bodhi continues to grow, and amaze us everyday. His face is starting to change, and he's looking less infant-like, stretching out. He is just aboutthe most smiley, giggly guy ever!

Family Time 7-8-12

We consider ourselves very fortunate that one of us is able to be home with Bodhi every day. That also means that on most days, one of us is away from home working. But Sundays are wonderfuly special...they're our family days. On this particular day, we spent our morning playing in Bodhi's room, sippingiced coffee, reading stories and having a cozy time.

Photo Shoot with Cousin, Ashton 6-29-12

We learned in late Spring that Ashton and his mom and dad would be relocating to California for an excellent job opportunity. My sis, Ashley, and I decided that we had to capture some great photos of the boys before the move took place. We were grateful to our photographer friend, Shalimar, who captured these gorgeous photos of the boys.

An assortment of gratuitous cuteness from June 2012

It's so hard not to snap pictures of Mr. Bodhi every single day.
And so, here's a small collection from his daily photoshoots.

3 Months...look how he's growing! 6-18-12

Our sweet guy is filling out so nicely :)

Bath Time! 6-14-12

Bodhi is just so relaxed, and so serious, in the bath.
We place his tub atop our rolling kitchen cart and bathe him in the pre-steamed bathroom.
It is a cozy family fit, to say the very least!

Another Visit with Grandma and Grandpa, 6-10 to 12-12

Grandma and Grandpa came to Chicago for another visit in early June. With perfect weather, we ventured to the annual neighborhood street fair, Andersonville Midsommarfest.
 Cozy Time with Grandpa
 Oh, what a face!
Afternoon cocktails and giggly babies make everyone happy.

One of the coolest, most unique things about our neighborhood is that The Puppet Bike, a traveling puppet show on a bike, is frequently found setting up shop in Andersonville. It's a wonderful, old-timey, nostalgic bit of entertainment for folks of all ages.

Our friend, Jean, invited us all over for dinner, and to relax in his lovely backyard.
Dad manned the BBQ and we all enjoyed a great visit.

Grandma and Grandpa adoring sweet Bodhi.
Safe travels mom and dad. We'll see you soon!!

Visiting family 6-8-12

We'd recently found out that Auntie Ashley, Uncle John and cousin, Ashton would be moving to California; John was offered an excellent job opportunity.
Before they left, we made it a point to spend as much quality time hanging out as possible.

He just keeps growing! 5-20-12

Here's Bodhi with his pal, Winnie the Pooh, again.
This time, he's 2 months and 2 days.

So Much Socializing in May 2012

5-17-12
Ashley and Ashton came over for a late afternoon stroll and trip to the park. As we rounded the corner out of our front gate, Ashley and I looked at each other, paused and, giggling. both said "Wow." We had never expected this moment where we were strolling with our kiddos to actually occur. Totally surreal. In the best way possible.

I've known Bonnie for about 15 years now. I used to babysit her oldest son when he was just 6 months old. And now he's nearing 15. Wow, time flies!  Bonnie was also our doula for Bodhi's birth. We ended up getting together for a delicious lunch and catch-up at Kopi cafe in the neighborhood. Bodhi was content as could be in Bonnie's arms.
After lunch, we ventured to Green Genes and visited with Rachael. Bodhi was sleepy, and we just happened to have the perfect size cradle for him to snooze in at the shop.

May 20th, we were invited to the lovely home of our friends, Jean and Jack. The evening was perfect was relaxing in their backyard hammock. Mama T and Bodhi were pretty comfy there.

Bodhi and Jean, enjoying the hammock.
May 25, Bodhi and I had a play date with Ashton and Ashley at a nearby park.
Ashton was quite enamored and fascinated with Bodhi. From this vantage point, he kept leaning over putting his face near Bodhi's; it was terribly sweet!

Bodhi, the office assistant, 5-17-12

Fortunately, Mama T is able to work from home 2 days a week. Bodhi always likes to be nearby, as seen in the "home office" shot.

Running Errands with Mamas, 5-9-2012

Someday, I hope to actually do blog posts close to "real time," but until then, this is how it goes...
I found this outfit before you made your arrival into the world. I love the vintage vibe, and not many folks look great in yellow, but you do, Bodhi bear.
Mamas were in serious need of haircuts, and Bodhi came along with us. We left feeling sassy and refreshed.  All the gals at the hair salon were "oohing" and "ahhing" over Bodhi's lovely locks.
Shopping wore him out!
