June 30: While Pride was happening back home in Chicago, we were having our own family celebration up North. An early start to the day included a brisk walk, a coffee stop, a visit to the docks, an introduction to a horse named Charlie, and plenty of park playtime!
We strolled to Kate's Sweet Indulgences, a delightful coffee shop filled with treats and deliciousness!
Everything was decked out for Canada Day on the first of July.
My order was going to originally be a chai latte and blueberry scone, but this sign caught my eye, and I said YES! THAT. Tina said Ditto, and we were warned of their highly addictive nature. We took our chances.
Crispy, buttery, blueberry filled and maple glazed...words can't really describe the yum factor involved here.
Bodhi enjoyed some milk and a strawberry muffin...
...while Mommy looked glazed after eating her glazed biscuit...
Next stop, a walk to the docks to soak up some Maritime atmosphere and enjoy the boats. Bodhi had a blast running around on the pier; it was terrifying for us to witness, and exhilarating for him to enjoy!
Seashell searching between the planks.
Meeting one of the Lunenburg tour horses, Charlie. Bodhi was pretty much in awe and got a huge kick out of petting this beautiful creature.
The tour guide plopped her hat on Bodhi's head; we think he was perplexed.
Next to the park across from mom and dad's place, sits a band stand and then Town Hall; seemed a good photo op.
We filled up the day with lots of playing and running around in the park, with a nap thrown in for good measure.
